The Sports Bar Ann Arbor asks, "Did Super Bowl Commercials Increase Your Consumption of Food?"

Were your eyes glued to the T.V. during the Super Bowl?
Were you watching it for the game, or for the commercials?

The commercials receive so much attention excitement nowadays that some fans look forward to them more than the actual game. In 1967, Super Bowl ads cost only $42,000, however in recent years the sticker price has gone up to $3 million for 30 seconds of air time!

When you check out the numbers below, it makes you wonder if Super Bowl commercials make people extra hungry?  According to Fox News, there are some compelling statistics about heavy consumption of food during Super Bowl Sunday they include:
14 billion hamburgers will be served
1.23 billion wings
69.6 million pounds of guacamole
11million tons of chips
4 million pounds of pretzels
2.5 million pounds of nuts
3.8 million pounds of popcorn
49.2 million cases of beer are sold every year on the day of the Super Bowl, with about 6 percent of Americans calling in sick for work the next day

Join us at The Sports Bar Ann Arbor-Westside to watch your favorite games including football, basketball, hockey or baseball.  No matter the season, we’ve got 22 screens broadcasting sports, with an amazing sound system that adds to excitement!  Plus, we have a full menu available including some of the best burgers Ann Arbor.  You don’t have to settle for just chips and dip, or pizza delivery anymore!
